Send some pull requests and get a free t-shirt!
Hacktoberfest is back for a seventh year to encourage cross-project participation. DigitalOcean wants you to register for Hacktoberfest (no purchase required) then open five pull requests to public repositories on GitHub.
Get your feet wet with open source and git; once you see how easy it is you’ll probably come back for more. And you’ll get a nice Hacktoberfest t-shirt.
We haven't offered any swag this year as we've little open for contribution at the moment but it's something that we'll definitely look into next year when we open-source Athena as well as whatever else we come up with.
Other companies have their own swag to add to your haul when you contribute to their projects though so be sure to check that out.
Our very own Paul Massey is participating in Hacktoberfest this year and has already created more than enough PR's to qualify.

It's October 31st and I've done it with 20 PR's raised.
I've ordered my T-Shirt now and I'm looking forward to participating next year.
